The proposals
Having worked on the design of the adjacent Eden Campus, our appointed architects, Darling Associates, have reworked previous plans to create a project that works better for Kingston.
The new plans replace the single tall, bulky building with two slimmer buildings, creating a cleaner townscape and balance across the site whilst respecting Kingston’s heritage. It improves daylight and views, delivers usable space at ground level such as publicly accessible co-working space and cafe, and enables a stronger setting for the Hogsmill River, while providing homes that meet local needs.
The updated plans for Lever House include:
- Two slender buildings that sit more comfortably in the townscape
- Co-living designed to support the Eden Campus workforce and the wider town centre
- Affordable housing that complies with policy, including family sized homes.
- Car free focused living supported by excellent public transport connections
- Improved pedestrian access through the site and safer, more legible routes to the town centre
- Target of BREEAM Outstanding for co-living and on-site delivery of biodiversity net-gain
- Greener, safer and more accessible riverside space through Hogsmill River naturalisation
- Active and welcoming ground floor uses, including publicly accessible co-working space and café, that enhance the surrounding streets
